This is the greatest thing I've ever seen.

Lynn C.
Best movie I've seen all year.

Jim Buynak
I will always picture you two just as you are in this movie! And I loved the John Wilkes Booth figurine/doll and the credit to the District of Columbian Barack Obama. Great job and good luck in the real world!

Hacienda Folk
We await your over-wrought, airport security checked, altitude challenged and thoroughly inconvenieced throng... this will be the wedding worth the trip!

Joanie Holmes
An award winning production by an up and coming team, Rick and Erin!! I laughed, I cried, I wondered, where have they been?! I will never miss any of their future productions! I await your destinies.

Maria ConsuelOOOOOOO
Where's the part when I fall in love with Erin. It happened the second she let me have the last margarita. Can't wait to celebrate you two! Can you invite some single friends? I'm down to two boyfriends and looking to find a couple more. K. Thanks

Cindy
Fantastic pupmance! I laughed, I cried in what has to be the best use of black and white since "Raging Bull." Makes Rick's recent "Saturday in the Park with Snyder" look amateurish.

A Real Film Critic
Robust, profound, dynamic - 'Rick and Erin' is sweeping the nation. The only strings I noticed in this puppet opus were the ones pulling at my heart...

Hope
No Elmo? WTF!

Brew
It's an incredible love story, yeah, but Lil Brew stole every scene he was in. I can't believe that dude didn't win a Puppet Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.

Bride of Brew
I write this note with tears of joy, knowing that there soon will be two less lonely puppets in the world...

David Lauricella
An unblinking modern romantic masterpiece that inspires hope for all who haven't yet discovered lifelong love.

Corey
This is the sort of feel-good story that would even make Dick Cheney grumble with happiness.

i just realized, my initial review, while somewhat profound in its brevity and direct admiriation for rick/erin's work, might also lead some to feel a little sorry for me. i didn't intend for this to be the case. so i want to make clear: even before witnessing rick and erin's movie, my life had already included many many splendid eight-minute segments, like watching the sun rise at the grand canyon, and reading wright thompson's review of the rick/erin wedding movie.

chico
i just had the best eight minutes of my life.

Son of Pop
Those darned Coen Brothers will get the award -- they always do -- but Rick and Erin is most deserving!

A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Triteness now with Puppets?
I found the "The story of Erin and Rick" a shoddy bit of workmanship and waste of time. Although the conceit of retelling Erin and Rick’s courtship via puppets initially seems clever; the execution was trite, clichd, and lacking emotional truth. The puppetry had neither the naive charm of the early Henson era or the subversive wit of Avenue Q. It saddened me that scriptwriters failed to include many important episodes the quirky yet epic romance between Erin and Rick including their stint in a Singapore Prison, their bronze medal in tandem ski ballet, or what scholars commonly refer to only as Domino’s Pizza Incident. I’d give it zero stars but the website won’t let me. PS: PSYCH, thought your film was really awesome and way cooler than any other wedding website I’ve seen. Mazel Tov to both of you, Jess and Charles.

Someone you don't know
I (VERY) randomly stumbled on your wedding site and just wanted to tell you that I got a huge kick out of your video. You seem like fun people. :) Best wishes as you two tie the knot!

If, as Emily Dickinson wrote, hope is the thing with feathers, then surely love is the thing with felted flesh and wired palms. Audiences are delivered a masterpiece of creativity, peculiarity and wit, words that describe not only the play but the players. Among the more gripping moments on screen, a moving and metaphoric rock-skipping scene immediately draws the audience into the mind and spirit of Lil Rick (puppeteered by newcomer Miley Cyrus). Meanwhile, Lil Erin (Don Knotts) transcends the medium to stand as an American icon for longing and hope. Brilliant.

For starters, this could have been filmed for half its budget. "The Story of Erin (feating only Lil Brew)" would have been sufficiant. Also, where were the puppies? People want puppies. And boobs. I saw neither. I was talking to my friend Blago about this, and he made a point I agree with. "Sammy, if you've got this (bleeping) video and it's (bleeping) golden, you don't just give it up for (bleeping) nothing!" So in summary, I would have used someone else's money to buy the rights to this film, then eliminated Lil Rick's character, refocused it solely on Lil Erin, added a puppy (and possibly some ads for a strip club), charged a fee to view it, installed a washed-up disc jockey as the director, then sold the apartment and the park where most of it was filmed and rented it back to Erin and Lil Brew at twice the cost. With these changes, I give it four stars. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a motorcycle to ride.

Errin
A feel good story. The REAL stimulus America needs right now!

Charlie Chaplin
Finally, a piece of cinematic magic that will return the art of film to its rightful origins and do away once and for all with these pesky talkies.

Sean
Please tell me you have the framed photos of the puppets in your home.

ANDREI
The movee ez grate!

I laughed until I cried. And then I laughed again. I don't think I've stopped. Have I?

Uncle Sam
Coolest thing I ever seen. Kids are laughing heads off. Informative as well.

Jessie
Hilarious! I've seen a ton of wedding "movies" and this one definitely takes the cupcakes! Can't wait for this rockin' par-tay!

This short film induced an orgasam of the senses and pulled on my heartstrings like a fat samoan does to his yukalaylee. In what seemed to be the result of a direct psychic connection with the late Jim Henson, Joseph Maese and his team of artisians created a heart-felt epic chaulked full of heart and felt puppets. This film proudly takes it's place next to other masterpiece love stories such as The Notebook, Bridges of Madison County, and the Matrix Trilogy. It's nice to finally have an internet film that I don't have to close the bedroom door to watch. Bravo.

Nick and Casey
Well done! Only problem now is finding a cake big enough to fit those puppets on top!

Double L
"Birth of a Nation" meets "Avatar" meets "The Paper" meets "When Harried Gets Married": This cult classic is propping up puppet governments from Clarksville to Cerrillos, whereverthehell that is.

Libido
Two very enthusiastic webbed-puppet-handed thumbs up!

Delana
Hahahaha Wow my crazy Cousins!!! Rick, Joe...You guys are funny!

Sharon
Loved it, Loved it, Loved it, Darlings. Can't wait to see Lil'Erin and Lil'Rick at the wedding!

Wright (Part II)
Lil Maese could have been better. His director deserved better.

Wright
Against the electric background of a sleek cafe in a Baltimore port, through which swirls a backwash of connivers, crooks and fleeing European refugees, the Maese Brothers are telling a rich, suave, exciting and moving tale in their new film, "The Story of Erin and Rick," which came to the Hollywood yesterday. They are telling it in the high tradition of their hard-boiled romantic-adventure style. And to make it all the more tempting they have given it a top-notch thriller cast of Lil Maese and Lil Erin and have capped it magnificently with Lil Brew. Yes, indeed, the Maeses here have a picture which makes the spine tingle and the heart take a leap. For once more, as in recent Lil Maese pictures, they have turned the incisive trick of draping a tender love story within the folds of a tight topical theme. They have used Lil Maese's personality, so well established in other brilliant films, to inject a cold point of tough resistance to evil forces afoot in Baltimore today. And they have so combined sentiment, humor and pathos with taut melodrama and bristling intrigue that the result is a highly entertaining and even inspiring film.

Vince
You two (three, counting Joey) really are superawesome. This was moving.

J Reid
Awesome! And that black puppet is a real scene stealer.

Buzzy Dutton
An instant classic!

Jere
Was inspired by this film to make Rick and Erin's wedding the official 2010 wedding of the World Vibe Elementals' Eco-Challenge Adventure Race Season!!!

Manohla Dargis
An irresistible romatic comedy puppet classic with none of the inappropriate puppet love of "Team America" (2004, Trey Parker and Matt Stone). L'il Rick (Rick Maese) and L'il Erin (Erin Cox) class up the genre into a visually delirious yet minimalist homage to love, its triumph over youthful indecision and, in the end, the very idea of puppets themselves. They represent not just our better selves, but also a heart-warming place where we can -- metaphorically and literally -- put our hands. I would have given it four-and-half stars, but Joey didn't create that option.

Krystina
I saw this advertised on theknot.com. this is waaaay to cute :)
